Network Arts was formed in 1996, offering creative services to people living in Lewisham who
have severe and enduring mental health support needs. It is now part of South East London
Arts Network (SELAN) which is a charitable organisation offering holistic arts and crafts based
activities for people living in South East London who have mental health support needs.

Since 1996, Network Artst has produced several commissioned pieces, ranging in size from a small banner, to a river flowing through the gardens of the forensic unit at the Bethlem hospital (River House).

Working on a commission really brings the group together and everybody has the opportunity to contribute to the piece in their own unique style .It gives a real sense of community to the project, with everyone working towards the same goal. Members are involved in all stages, from design to production, and the sense of achievement when a piece is completed is shared by all.

Commissions also generate valuable funds for the project

We have rightly earned a reputation for producing work of a very high standard and hope to continue with more commissions in the coming years

Below is a list of some of the commissions that we have undertaken. To read more about an individual commission, and to view photos, please click on the links in the table.
