Since Network Arts was set up, in 1996, the project has produced several commissioned pieces, ranging in size from a small banner, to a river flowing through the gardens of the newly built forensic unit at the Bethlem hospital (River House).
Working on a commission really brings the group together and everybody has the opportunity to contribute to the piece in their own unique style. It gives a real sense of community to the project, with everyone working towards the same goal. Members are involved in all stages, from design to production, and the sense of achievement when a piece is completed is shared by all.
Commissions also generate valuable funds for Network Arts.
Network Arts has rightly earned a reputation for producing work of a very high standard and hopes to continue with more commissions in the future.
