"An Arts & Craft project for people living in Lewisham, who have mental health support needs. Offering a supportive welcoming space to explore your creativity, learn new art techniques, put structure to your day and maybe make new friends." Mo Saunders -Co-Ordinator Network Arts
The mosaic workshops run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a morning session from 10am-12 noon, and an afternoon session from 1pm-4pm. The groups are facilitated by Mo Saunders (project manager) and Steve Glyn (deputy project manager), and have become very popular. The atmosphere in the mosaic group is relaxed and welcoming, and provides a space where members can engage in conversation if they wish to, but where it is also OK to be quiet during those times that they don't feel able to say much. New members usually start by mosaicing a small picture frame, flower pot or mirror, and as their confidence grows they move on to their own self directed projects. Everybody works at their own pace and more experienced members are always willing to give tips and advice to newer members. For health and safety reasons, food and drink are not allowed in the workshop but tea and coffee (and usually biscuits) are available in the cafe area downstairs. If you are interested in joining this group, please speak to your care coordinator or COS worker. If you wish to refer a service user, please use the link on the left to contact Network Arts. Alternatively, you can download a referral form by clicking here. Please note that you cannot make a referral online, the form will need to be printed and filled in by hand.
